ROCKLIN, Calif. — A new grocery store is opening in South Placer County as Nugget Market expands into Rocklin for the first time.

The family-owned grocer will open its newest location on Wednesday, marking its 18th store and its first serving the Rocklin community. 

The opening comes as Nugget Market celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2026.

The store is located at 1051 Whitney Ranch Parkway, near the intersection of Whitney Ranch Parkway and University Avenue, just off Highway 65. The store will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. 

According to the company, the store was built from the ground up and will serve as the anchor of a new shopping center under development in the area.

Developers say several businesses are planned for the surrounding shopping center. Announced tenants include Jack’s Urban Eats, Jersey Mike’s, Poppy Bank, NuYo, Great Greek, Bank of Montreal, Great Clips, Pacific Dental and Quick Quack Car Wash.

Those businesses are expected to begin opening in phases starting in summer 2026, with additional tenants and buildings continuing through 2027.

The store will offer a variety of grocery and prepared-food options, including fresh produce, with locally grown and organic selections. 

Its meat and seafood department will feature a full-service counter with premium cuts, prepared entrées and dry-aged beef.

Additional departments include a specialty cheese section led by a cheesemonger and an adult beverage area with beer, wine and spirits.

Customers will also find an in-house bakery offering artisan breads and desserts, along with a prepared foods kitchen serving sandwiches, sushi, salads and hot meals. 

A coffee and juice bar will offer made-to-order drinks, including locally roasted coffee, smoothies and juices.

The company has not announced additional grand opening events.
